Yo, my name’s Cameron. I just wanted to hop on here from beautiful Santa Monica and tell you a little bit about me and my story.

I’m an email copywriter and I write for photography and videography coaches and online instructors. I first discovered Jon through a coach of mine who showed me his drunk cold email sequence. I basically took that and ran with it.

To be honest, my entire business is based off of that drunk cold email sequence – that one email.

Ever since then I’ve been able to connect with some really, really big people in my niche and I’ve been able to work with people who I never thought I would even be in communication with.

Yann offers marketing and lead generation services to chiropractors – a market which is typically quite closed off to marketers.

I came across Jon from ads and then I bought Charm Offensive Professional, which I do recommend buying because it’s the most complete, with all the updates and everything.

From there, I took some of the sequences – basically I chose the ones that made me laugh the most! There’s so many and they’re all brilliant. Then I made them my own using my own kind of humour, and my own personality. I integrated them inside the processes that I use. I’ve been using DMs to facebook pages, so I made them a little bit shorter – obviously the format is a little bit different when you’re sending a message – and since they were still pretty long I alternated between sending a funny message one day, and the other day sending a super-short follow up like just a gif or something.

I got a ton more responses from people – even if they weren’t interested, they were still replying with, “kudos for being creative,” “this is so funny.”

The biggest thing thing for me is that the market I’m dealing with is chiropractors. They’ve very closed off and not so friendly with marketing people. But I got in touch with some big guy who has four or five clinics, 100,000 patients, so a pretty big deal. We’re in the toss for an $8,000 steal. They literally said, “I never take these kind of calls, but you showed some personality.”

It was like I skipped a lot of barriers and got straight to that friendly conversation.

I didn’t think it would work B2B, but I trusted that Jon had those experiences and thought I’d just try – and it did work, so that’s pretty awesome.

Jon’s templates have been a godsend. I just messaged him about how a few weeks ago we started a new campaign; it had been a while since we had done cold email outreach because we’d been focussing on other marketing techniques, but my husband had decided that he wanted to get out of his nine to five. 

So we set up a cold email campaign, we found a targeted audience, we’ve been adding them one at a time, and we’ve gotten about a hundred out in the last few weeks – just fitting it in to the corners of our days around kids and work and my regular business activities and the clients I already have.

You’ve seen all of his reviews, so you know exactly the kind of emails I’m getting back – but “this is the funniest thing I saw all day,” “I’d love to hop on a call.” These are high-ticket funnels. They’re getting sent website links that send them to four and five figure pricing, and we’re getting multiple sales calls at a time when we send out small batches. 

Even today one was a $9,000 package. She was actually not somebody who we emailed. Somebody who we emailed knew she didn’t need us, but knew that she wanted to talk to us anyway so she could refer us to other people – and she did, within a week. So that’s amazing.

Now, we’re one sale away from making the number that he wanted in order to quit, and that’s just within a month. It’s truly something that you can just get rolling. I do marketing stuff all the time and this is an indispensable way of reaching your audience when you want to and how you want to, and finding people who are excited to talk to you about what you do.

He gives us ways to break away from that, in a very clever way. I wish I came up with it first, to be honest. I’m a bit jealous there.

I started a facebook group some nine weeks ago on a bored whim, and I’ve now got over 1,200 people in there and I’m making high-ticket sales. While I’m not giving Jon all the credit for that, a lot of the reason people are in there and they’re engaged and it’s grown so fast is that my style of posting stands out. A lot of that is down to the joke formulas that I learned from Jon, and the way of being humorous while still getting a great sales message across. 

It just stands out from all the dull, dry, serious, professional copy out there. 

When you sign up you get access to all his stuff – and there’s loads – including all his templates, and how to approach people. I’ve used some of his templates for approaching influencers, and I’ve been on a few podcasts as a result.

But mainly it’s been about learning that style of communication makes you stand out.
