Back in 2016, I was told by Charlie Price (who runs the Traffic & Copy FB Group) that I should consider starting a Facebook Group.
I had just started using Facebook Groups. There was one I really loved called The Cult Of Copy. A talented chap name Colin Theriot runs it.
Sometime in 2017, Colin posted in his group pitching his paid calls. I was hesitant to pay money for someone's time. That was the ego speaking. In another tipsy moment, I spoke to Colin and somewhat reluctantly paid him the money over Paypal.
I spoke to Colin and told him my idea for Charm Offensive. He gave me a lot of great advice of how to operate the group, how to make products, and a whole range of other stuff.
Most importantly, he told me, "You have something that is interesting and unique, and your enthusiasm for it will make it work."
That was the nudge I needed to get me to try and make a go of my idea.
The next day, I started the Facebook Group and the rest is history.
And now, 6 years later, here I am offering paid calls to my audience.

A good few years ago, I was desperate for sales after my word of mouth work dried up.
I got hellishly drunk one night and wrote a completely absurd cold email. I was still tipsy the next morning and decided it was still a good idea to send it to pretty senior Marketing Directors at big brands.
