Use the power of AI to generate charming lines for your emails and other content.

When I was a teenager, I watched a lot of sitcoms and stand-up comedy on the little TV in my room, often staying up until 2 or 3am. I was exposed to a lot of humour. You could argue this contributed to my 10,000 experience needed to get great at something. If I knew I was working, I probably wouldn’t have done it. 😀

Fast forward to 2012. I found myself in a bad situation, needing new clients to replace the ones that had left (it happens). That’s when I got drunk and wrote the cold email that changed my life.

When I wrote that email, I knew nothing about copywriting hooks or formulas. I used joke formulas instinctively. Spoken comedy such as stand up or sitcoms uses tonality, body language, facial expressions and other audible or visual cues. Writing humour for people reading doesn’t have these options. Somehow, when I wrote my drunk cold email, I knew this.

A lot of the funny lines were syntax-based. They work because of how the sentence is constructed.

I understand that to those without my weird upbringing on comedy, writing funny sentences isn’t natural or reflexive. It’s difficult without ‘the knack.’ Some people just have it.’ Alas, most people don’t.

Enter ChatGPT.

In the beginning, I arrogantly thought “ChatGPT can’t understand humour. It’s too nuanced.”

One day, I decided to see if I could get ChatGPT to learn some of my formulas for syntax-based humour. I taught it a simple one, and it got it.

Then I tried another more complicated technique, and it got that too.

It even understood how the technique worked and why it would be received well by readers.

You can then ensure the examples are relevant to what you’re selling. You can make the lines longer or shorter. You can modify the output to be exactly what you need.

Ok, AI, perhaps I underestimated you.

For syntax-based humour, ChatGPT is effective. Now, not all of my humour is syntax-based, but enough is.

You will be able to train ChatGPT to give you a near unlimited amount of lines based on the techniques you teach it.

So how does this work?

Here is a little sample. I taught ChatGPT my 'Funny Unsubscribe' technique and asked for some more examples.

Here's what it came out with:

I also taught it my "Funny Follow Up" technique.

Here are some versions of this line:

Some of these genuinely made me smile and laugh! It can create unlimited versions of these techniques now.

These are just two of the techniques you'll find in this pack. It contains a huge variety of different formulas I've used across a wide array of my effective templates.

Once you've taught ChatGPT all these techniques, you'll have a vast array that you can add to your cold pitches, emails to your list, social media content, social media ads, and other content where you want to make your audience smirk, smile, or belly laugh.

Exciting times!

And that's not all...
I'm throwing in a bonus training!

As a bonus training, I will show you how I think about creating these prompts.

These will be useful for cold pitches but also emails to your list, posts on your group, social media ads, and many other mediums where you wish to solicit a smile from your readers.

If you see a funny line you’ve read in the wild, I’ll show you how to reverse-engineer it. You can then teach it to ChatGPT and generate your own versions of the line.

A positive side effect of using this pack is you’ll get a better personal understanding of syntax-based humour. Yes, that’s right, you’ll learn something else useful accidentally. It’s a bit like when I watched all that comedy when I was growing up.

What do people think of this pack?

I've seen some of the output that other people have generated using this pack and it's actually better than what I've generated myself.

A member of Charm Offensive Professional sent me a Google Doc showing all the copy she generated using my pack. Some of the lines are not to my taste. Many made me smirk or smile. And a few made me laugh out loud.

Many of the really funny lines were ones I'd never have thought of organically, either.

This is so incredibly powerful! Now everybody can add charm and humour to their sales pages, emails, social media content, etc.

Does my stuff work?

I've got an incredible amount of testimonials from my customers.

Here are just a few:

Just got off the phone with my new client

Charm success!

Just got off the phone with my new client who I "won" by answering a FB post looking for a copywriter.

I used one of Jon's templates to email her and send her to my portfolio.

She told me that she got so many replies to her post that she basically started by scanning the email itself.

Mine, of course, stood out because I used Jon's template.

So gang, it's more than just a great portfolio. You need to stand out even in the email copy to get them to read your portfolio.

Without using Jon's template, who knows if she would have even seen the awesomeness in my portfolio.

Thanks Jon!

I've Landed my first job

Yo, just to let anyone who's bought Charm Offensive Professional (or is thinking of buying), it works.

I'm only 20 years old with 2 months copywriting training.

I've been taking pointers from the beautiful, charisma-man Jon Buchan himself, and not only am I creating leads, I've also landed my first job.

2 months, little training, no experience, and barely able to use a washing machine - sounds like a hopeless case right?

Jon says: "Nah, it'll be fine"

And it was - got a job and feeling good. Much praise 😌👌

It’s scary what you could accomplish

Jon, you’ve stumbled upon something special.

Your approach works. I don’t understand why more people don’t think of being irreverent. It’s honestly like a secret power... and it’s scary what you could accomplish with a handful of letters with bear pictures and some silly emails.

You could use this to meet famous people, get dream jobs, big paying clients, a girlfriend (why not?)...

It’s so simple yet so effective.

I sincerely hope you don’t become wildly successful or famous because then you’d popularize this method 😂

Be very encouraged!

JON BUCHAN  //  Founder, Charm Offensive

A good few years ago, I was desperate for sales after my word of mouth work dried up.

I got hellishly drunk one night and wrote a completely absurd cold email. I was still tipsy the next morning and decided it was still a good idea to send it to pretty senior Marketing Directors at big brands.

To my astonishment, it worked. I got the most amazing complimentary responses and requests for calls/meetings, from senior decision makers at RedBull, Pepsi, Symantec, Hewlett-Packard, HSBC, Barclays and countless other global brands. Symantec and Hewlett Packard became clients.

All because of a crazy cold pitch.

I decided to start teaching others my unorthodox approach to cold pitching. People listened to my weird advice and found that it worked for them, too.

That's what Charm Offensive is all about: getting the attention of busy people.
